Scanner/camera wizard won't work.

Can anyone help please?

I have a HP photosmart 3 in 1.
For a while I haven't been able to scan onto the computer by selecting options on the scanner itself. Therefore I have been using the microsoft scanner and camera wizard successfully.

Now however, I cannot open the scanner/camera wizard.

Also I have tried to uninstall the HP software using the disk supplied but no luck there, neither can I remover it from the control panel either. I wanted to try and reinstall it.

And I can't get the HP support centre to open!

Is the only answer, running the product recovery disk or is there a way I can get around this please, as that is the last resort, I really don't want to go through all that and have to reinstall everything.:o

I'm not very techie minded, so would be very grateful for an help or advice please.

it's probrably an autoplay issue with the PC not seeing the scanner / camera as a device.

Have you installed anything new since the last time you used the scanner/camera wizard?

Mine stopped working when I installed the BBC radio player (can't remember what it was called. Not iPlayer, the version before that). Uninstalled it and the wizard started working again.

I tried that, but no difference.


No I haven't installed anything new. I was using it in the morning but it just stopped all of a sudden, it won't recognise the scanner.
I think I need to run the product recovery disk, I have a few niggling problems on the puter.
I can't email pics from my folders either, like I used to. I have Outlook Express and I get a window appearing to register outlook.

So maybe is the only way I will get them all sorted?


I have done it ages ago, just wasn't looking forward to doing all that again.:o
