I have 1mbps broadband and am connected to it by an 'Alcatel Speed Touch USB' modem. I have been given an 'ORIGO ASU-8000 ADSL USB' modem.
Are they essentially the same thing or is there any point in replacing the 'Alcatel' with the 'Origo'

Both are USB modems so unless you're having problems I'd stick with what you have.
However should you need to use it and need any help try the Origo support forums
