Trying to find a very last minute apartment to rent in Costa Del Sol (preferably Benalmadena) for around £100, from the 6th til the 10th July.

Maybe you could make a deal with someone like this http://www.holidaylettings.co.uk/rentals/benalmadena/33771
£200 at the moment but so short notice they may not get anyone in.
On the main page search Benalmadena and loads of properties come up.
£100 is ok out of season but from now on its closer to £200 a week plus.I beep for Robins - Beep Beep
& Choo Choo for trains!!0 -
Thanks. Tried a few. So far they've said we have to pay for the whole week and the cheapest is 230.
I'll take a look at that and see what they say.0 -
I've used HOMELIDAYS several times but have always paid a lot more than £100. Might be worth emailing owners to see if they will accept less.0

i rent out my boss's apartment, and we wouldn't take £100 for a week in the height of summer. once we've paid for cleaning after the stay, plus laundery, and you've hammered the air con because of the heat, let alone telephone, stationery etc, it wouldn't be viable.Blonde jokes are one-liners so men can remember them...;)0

Less than 230 is what they're asking. Yes we did own an apartment in Spain so we know the money and costs that goes into it but we're not looking for a posh apartment, but just a studio or a budget hotel. Wouldn't be using the telephones nor would we need one, and we wouldn't "hammer" the air con as you put it as at that time we would be out all of the day. None of our friends can do it as they're fully booked at this time.
Also not looking for a week either, but 3-4 nights.
EDIT: I did actually mean to put £150 in, but was looking at one for £100 p.p and my mind slipped :P £100 isn't viable you're right.0 -
Studio in hercules or equivalent required, not Hilton

Thank you, never been on the Homelidays website before  Very helpful for future reference.
OOPS: I did actually mean to put £150 in, but was looking at one for £100 p.p and my mind slipped :P0 -
forgive the briefness of my response earlier - i started to post and then had to dash.
re my points about telephone, i meant our bill arranging everything with the renter, and the cleaner etc, and then there's the stationery in terms of confirmation letters, rental agreements, posting out the keys by recorded delivery...
the air con bill is also massive in the high season. you might be good with it, but my boss has been in spain and called on people to check they are ok in the place, only to find them out, but with the air con running so high he could hear it thumping out from the other side of the door. they leave it on so it's cool when they come back in!
re the new price, you should find somewhere if you check the usual websites (we rent via ownersdirect.co.uk and holiday-rentals.co.uk). again, 4 nights is usually a minimum because of the viability.
hope you get somewhere. let's face it, we're not getting much summer here again :cool:Blonde jokes are one-liners so men can remember them...;)0 -
We have been to Benalmadena (palomo park area) many times (so much to do and see) and found http://www.villarenters.com/ to have been the best web site for price etc
You can still get a half a pint of lager for 1€ in most bars, and a good meal out including wine for 14€ a person.
Happy Holidays!0 -

Thanks Debs, I thought you were being a bit nasty at first
With owning properties ourselves (albiet not in Spain anymore) we understand all about that, and the costs. We even rented ours to friends when we first started out who said they would clean - never again! We went in afterwards when the flat had been empty - there was food still in the fridge, and in the microwave, and the fan and con were on. :lipsrseal When you have shade on the balcony, and an open room, and the cool breeze.. I don't think there's much need for it, but I see where you're coming from.
Tried a few on Home Rentals and I'm waiting for something back and I'm just looking on Owner's Direct.
(It was lovely today though here!
)
Villa Elsa I'd like to thank you for your post too, I'll have a look on that website too, although I think I have been on it recently. We go to Benalmadena a lot, absolutely lovely. We're just looking for a short break there to catch up with some friends and catch some sun (a rarity in this country!)0
