Sony 3G thingy

Hi guys,

The company my brother works for has upgraded all their IT equipment and he has given me a Sony 3G mobile internet "thingy" (sorry, don't know it's correct name:o ) that they were throwing out (shocking waste of money but they're a big American company with loads of money:rotfl: )

Anyway, can anyone tell me if this will be compatible with my Toshiba laptop and also, what do I have to do to enable me to use it to get online.

if it's a USB thingie then it should be compatable (you might need to check the Sony site for the software to run it.

All you'll then need is a SIM card from a mobile that has a "Data" package.

does it have a model number? or name?

I think it's USB I can't remember and I'm at work at the moment (on a break;) ) so can't check. I'll have a look when I get home.

Thanks for your reply. I'll get back to you.

It's an Option GlobeTrotter 3/EDGE data card and connects by PC card slot which I think my laptop has. Looks like I need some software as well which I don't have
