Egg Card

Hiya,

I have applied for egg card but got declined. i have read some threads here (to use a backdoor option). Now i have opened a saving account with them. now my question is 'when i can apply for a egg card again? How much money should be in my saving acct before i can apply.

My current acct recently got default for 1000 pounds with me bank. Is this affect my application for egg card? even if i have saving acct with them.

Yes a recent default will have a big negative effect on your credit score. I suggest you read up on credit scoring to see if there is anything you can do to improve it. Click on the "Credit Rating" link in the blue box above.

Opening a savings account with Egg will not have much of an impact in the short term. It doesn't prove you are no longer a credit risk. I guess if the savings amount is large that might reassure them a bit.

All you can do is try to slowly improve your credit rating. Have a look at your credit history, the length of time it will take to repair will depend on how bad it is. Depending on what it says try again in 6 months or more likely a year.

I got declined by egg initially, as I also have a default, although mine is satisfied.

I wrote them an email appealing the decision, and I got a phone "Interview" a few days later.

They accepted my appeal and gave me an egg card, I would recommend appealing it.
