Mine won't update either so I would imagine it's a problem at their end0

I had the same problem this morning, but it did update about midday.

Would recommend uninstalling and changing to Avira anyway. AVG 8.0 is a bit cumbersome and tries to be a bit too clever by bundling lots af additional stuff that you dont really need.0

seems a common problem today
will switch it off and reboot the comp and see what happens..
for justin scotland
i think its much of a muchness plenty of members come on here who dont like avira either..i will keep open mind and see what happens,as for the extras i switch most of them off and just us the basic a.v.
ive used avg on this computer for 2.5 to 3yrs and had one major virus and then todays prob. which i think is ok (use kaspersky on main comp as its on 24hrs a day for last 5 yrs,,,,make that was as it blew up on tue am rip.......)
will pop back later for reviewWAS DEBT FREE & STILL BAAARRRRRKING :cool:

You can update manually with the file from here;
http://free.avg.com/ww.download-update
But the update files from that are very big.

Had problems with both my main rig and this lappy and was told that avg wasn't protecting either so i downloaded avast and installed that instead (avg linkscanner still didn't work with firefox3 either :mad: )0
