Central Heating works, but suddenly, no hot water! Help!?

I have a conventional, pumped, non pressurised, indirect heating system, with hot water cylinder. The boiler is a Potterton Flamingo RS40 balanced flue with two motorised zone valves.
The heating is working fine but when requesting hot water first thing in the morning
the boiler fires up for a few minutes then turns itself off.
I've tried moving/resetting the levers on the motorised valves next to the pump. There is a thermostat on the cylinder, set to 65.
Any suggestions as to why I'm suddenly not getting any hot water?
I did a serch and these possibilities came up
Pump failure - Diverter Valve faulty - Cylinder stat faulty - Programmer faulty - Air lock .
If any of these why does the boiler fires up for a few minutes then turns itself off?
Many thanks.
