Business electricity, help please

I have just received a letter from our current electricity supplier E.ON regarding our current contract & offering to discuss prices.
We currently have their Business Electricity Plan 120.

For the period from 27th August 08 to 26th August 09, E.ON are now offering the following:-

Standing Charge - £27.88 per quarter
Day Units - £12.28
Night Units - £6.94

My partner & I run a small family business from home & for sometime now we have thought that our electricity bill was very high. We tried to switch last year, to E4B as they were much more competitive at that time, but our contract with E.ON was still in place & it appeared we were tied up, until now. (After reading recents comments on here about E4B its probably just aswell that we didn't go with them???? )

As we now have a chance to discuss our plan &/or maybe switch, I wondered if anybody had any thoughts on a) Our current price plan (good, bad, indifferent???) & b) what companies are competitive for business electricity?

Thank you in anticipation.

    Hello Jumpngjack751,
Do not go to E4B Thieves, it may appear cheap for the first year, then they spring the trap.
I have just posted in reply on the thread 'Beware E4B' please read it.

As for suggesting a good supplier (can you afford a generator) I am afraid the choice is not good for SME'S but from my last few years of experiance you need a very good broker who will help you / make sure you can change every year (one year contracts only) or what I am going to do is choose one of the big five, yes slightly higher rates, but they are part of the onbudmans clan and have to be seen to act fairly or they can be admonished. You do get a litle protection this way, but the smaller companies are not in the ombudmans scheme and you have no recourse only litigation and thats stressful and expensive.

Personally I am going to go with Scottish power, once I force E4B THIEVES to release the supply.
If you weigh more than the space you take, You will sink !.

Jumpngjack751, if you stuck with Eon / got rolled again then here's a reminder that your renewal window has just opened (120 days before contract end date). In other words, it's time to ask them for the renewal offer that will come into effect from end of Aug. Well worth serving notice too so you have the option to switch if you find a better rate but bear in mind you have less than 3 weeks to do this once they've sent you the new rate.
    Day Units - £12.28
Current competitive prices are more like 8p
