pm confusion

Hi
I've sent a pm to a member of the site twice in the last couple of days. Both times, I've looked in my sent file and it's not been there. I thought one of the following may be happening.
Her in box is full.
She has put me on her 'ignore' list (I can't imagine this would be the reason)
She has requested that she doesn't receive pms.
Should a message appear on my screen, telling me why the pm isn't in my sent file? Can I assume it wasn't sent? If it was the latter possibility, would it still have come up with 'send pm' on the drop down menu when I clicked her user name?
I've looked on the amazing a-z site index but I can't find relevant info.
Thanks,
Gingham.

I don't know why a PM would not appear in your sent folder
If you send a message to someone that has disabled Private Messaging, you get:
xxxxxx has chosen not to receive private messages or may not be allowed to receive private messages. Therefore you may not send your message to him/her.
Who's on your ignore list it private. So if you send a message to someone who has put you on their ignore list, the software hides the fact they've blocked you by putting a copy in your sent box and pretending to send it.
As to what happens when you send to someone who's box is full, I'm afraid I can't remember.

You would get a note about saying 'so and so cannot recieve any more messages blah blah blah as their box is full'
If it hasn't appearred in your sent box then I would presume it has failed for some reason ,a glitch or whatever
you can't tell if your on ignore0 -
Weird. I'd try again but she may have got the other 2 and think I'm stalking her!May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0

When we started using vbulletin there was an option to request a confirmation from the recipient that they'd read it.
But I don't think it was well liked0 -
I'm going to try one more time, just to see what happens. But if she thinks I'm a pest, I'm going to hide in a hole in the ground for a few weeks!May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0
