Alliance & Leicester - Recommend a Friend

I have a new current account with Alliance & Leicester and if you recommend a friend you receive £50 to share as soon as the friend opens the account. You can only access via the link which is sent to the friend by email otherwise you cannot get £50 - this is not working and has been like this for over 3 weeks.
Anyone else had this problem.
Alliance & Leicester do not seem particularly bothered.

Or get your friend to use Quidco so he/she gets the whole £50.0

Not quite true - it has to be funded with a minimum of £500 within 8 weeks of account opening. Only after that will the £25 be paid to each.0 -
Anyone out there closed their A/L ac, then 3 months later applied again? (to get the 2x £25) does it work?0
