DIY Transfer of Equity

Hi,

Does anyone know if you can do a Transfer of Equity yourself?

I have found the correct form (TR1) and don't really want to pay a solicitor about £400 to fill it in.

I am getting divorced and have payed my my ex half of the equity minus my depoisit in the house.

She also wants to be removed from the deeds\mortgage.

The mortgage is in joint names but I am no longer tied in and I can get a mortgage to cover the full balance on my salary.

Can you explain what you mean by this? The name(s) on the deeds usually go hand-in-hand with the name(s) on the mortgage.

If your OH is taking on the mortgage alone, then she needs to remortgage in her own name. She will need a solicitor to do that and the process will include the transfer of the title (ownership) of the property to her.
