City Break Suggestions please

Anyone got any suggestions for a city break for 2 adults for 2 or 3 nights depending on cost, travelling sometime between 11 July but must be back by 25 July. Can travel any time between these dates, would prefer to fly out of Liverpool or Manchester airport. Don't like places too hot so ideal temperature would be 25 - 30 C max.

    How about Norway?
we went in october, flew with ryanair from liverpool and the whole weekend, flights and hotel was £120 each
ryanair fly into torp which is about 2 hours from oslo but there is a bus from the airport (£27 return) to the bus station in oslo. it runs in conjunction with ryanair so doesn't leave until after the ryanair flight has landed so if the flight is delayed the bus doesnt leave.
I loved Norway its a really nice city and there is plenty to do, its also the cleanest place i have been to and the norweigian people were really friendly

Stockholm is lovely too - loads to see and do, but lots of places in Scandinavia can be expensive. We're off to Copenhagen very soon and friends who've been have told us that it's a bit cheaper than Norway/Sweden.

I absolutely loved Copenhagen, its a beutiful city and the locals were very friendly. Its expensive but as Bex said, not as bad as parts of Sweden.

Seville is also fabulous and has lots of places to see and beautiful gardens to sit and relax but may be 32-35 so too hot for your liking

Personally i'd recommend Barcelona - loads to see and do and much more likely than the other places that have been recommend to actually be warm.

You could look at madrid-travelodge (saver rooms, book each one separate to get best rate) have rooms from 10 euros (most are 35 euros) for your dates. Check this sites flightchecker for cheap flights.

Sky europe have a sale on flights that ends Friday £9 it says.

Maybe you could look at going to Edinburgh, www.megatrain.com do fares from £1 from Birmingham to Edinburgh on a new route from the 14th July and you could get a bus to Birmigham from Liverpool for a few pounds on www.megabus.com. Think the train stops at Manchester, but think their are some regulations that you cannot use the ticket-although nearer. Best to check train threads on here for that one. You could use the deal ending tomorrow to check for £30 Best Western hotel rooms in Edinburgh. 2 nights stay and you use code 30bda.

also Liverpool on the Ryanair map http://www.ryanair.com/site/EN/dests.php?flash=chk&culture=GB&pos=HEAD for inspiration

I would recommend Bruges. Its beautiful and there's plenty to do and see. From a pony and trap ride around the city, a boat tour on the canals, to just walking around looking at the buildings. There are loads of pubs and bars - one of which serves over 400 beers! There is a beer museum where you can see how it's made and taste it.

And of course there is chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate - there is a chocolate museum where you can learn the history and see how they make it and taste it! And there are waffles, steak et frites, or moules et frites!:D

As you can tell my breaks revolve around food!:rotfl:
If you have nothing constructive to say just move along.

We had a city break in Porto flying from Liverpool. It's a great city with an excellent transport system. Eating and drinking is as cheap as anywhere, and there's plenty to see. The port lodges are a must too.

We have also been in the last couple of years to Barcelona, Valencia, Santiago de Compostela, Prague, Bruges & Lisbon. You would not be disappointed with any of them.
