My wifes contract with O2 is now up and we want to move her to a PAYG sim but dont want to have to pay top ups everymonth, which is effectivly a 1 month contract. We onl use the phone very rarely so we want one where the credit doesnt run out. Does the Virgin one do this?

With PAYG sims, I'm pretty sure that none of them run out. You top your phone up as and when you need credit. You don't necessarily need to use all that credit up within a month; there's no time limit.

Sorry if I misunderstood in any way.

Virgin PAYG do offer the ability to pay by dd,but you still technically have to make a call/text every 180 days.

The majority if not all Payg providers do not normally require you to make a top up every month ,that only normally applies when you want regular free/texts minutes.
You normally just need to top them up once, or use any credit they might come with, and as long as you use it every 180 days your credit lasts.

You could even get a free payg sim from Virgin. http://www.virginmobile.co.uk/promo/duoSim.html
register to get the £3 in total credit, and just use this credit at your leisure. No need even to top up initially.

I have 4 new o2 sim cards :) The "genie" ones, where you get 300 free texts when you top up with £10 (you also get the £10 calling credit).

i think the free £2 credit is no longer given as this was the message i got when creating account

If you've read about getting £2 free airtime when you register, we're sorry to say that we've had to withdraw this offer. You can still get your hands on 2 free downloads when you register, plus, loads more with Crave
