Hi All. OK - trying to save money by doing some stuff ourselves but a bit unsure about this one and nice gas man on holiday for another 2 weeks so can't get his advice! The old baxi back boiler which was in the chimney breast (originally a coal fire I presume - ex local authority bout 90 years old). I've got a focalpoint excelsior inset flueless fire to go in but we're really confused about the instructions about lining (supaflux? etc). Our chimney breast (working order) backs onto our neighbours chimney breast - mirror image. Instructions are really for where a false wall would be put in - talking about supaflux boarding etc - happy to do this if that's what is required but won't the current brickwork just be OK. Bascially do we just chip back the bricks to the correct dimensions or lots more work to do........... Thanks all. Nobody in this house is talking to each other now - glad I didn't wait till winter.............
