***WARNING***Website posing as BT try to phish your account details

I have received an email today which i'm almost sure is a phishing email. If you get and email that starts "Urgent - BT is making some changes to its email service. Emails you send from alternate BT Yahoo! Mail addresses may be blocked" press delete.

I have reported it to BT. It is very convincing. It waffles on about error 553 and I have managed to find this on the BT website and it talks about Outlook 2003 and how there are sometimes conflicts and this error message comes up.

I spent an hour on the phone trying to find out who at BT may be interested in the fact that 1000's of email addresses and passwords could be stolen and its like bashing your head against a brick wall.

Does any one know who deals with this sort of thing at BT. The Indian call centre hadn't got a clue.

Nope. Had an auto response email. Complete waste of time. No reply from anyone from BT.

Please, if OP is on BTInternet or Yahoo, just switch on you email filter and these spams will be directed to your Spam Folder automatically. Make sure you have the latest Anti virus software as well, see you account homepage for details.
