BTW, Dithering Dad, unless they've had massive inflation since I was there, I think you're wrong on prices; I found it a fair bit cheaper than the UK, and a lot cheaper than the rest of Scandinavia. Can't remember alcohol specifically (I don't drink much, so don't bother to compare prices), but meals out, accommodation etc were certainly cheaper than the London (capital city) equivalent.
but alcohol prices are the only prices I mentioned! I didn't discuss meals, accomodation etc.
How can you say you think I'm wrong on prices when the only prices I mentioned were alcohol prices, which you then go on to say you can't remember what they were because you didn't drink anyway??Mortgage Free in 3 Years (Apr 2007 / Currently / Δ Difference)

Don't spoil my Danish fantasy! Is this all Denmark, incl. Copenhagen? That's the only bit I saw lots of and LOVED.

Off course not everyone is like that, but the majority is.. Seriously, if you're foreign, you have zero chance of integrating.. My boyfriend would like us to move there, which in many ways makes sense, but I just wouldn't put him through it..
It's a beautiful country, and so advanced in many ways.. Just a shame about the Danes..
If you want the Scandivanian dream, but with a heart, go for Sweden. It's the most stunning country AND they welcome foreigners much more than Denmark0 -

Didn't like Sweden. Full of stunning blonde Swedish women with adorable blonde babies, and all the men were weedy and blonde and deeply, deeply SMUG owing to the fact they had their pick of the endless supply of stunning Swedish women.0 -

I did drink, though not as much as you, clearly! It's not my first and only criteria for judging a country, as it obviously is for you.
Have a drink, and chill.....0 -

Ah, thanks Mr B. I must admit I was a tad confused. I add to a discussion about the price of alcohol in Scandinavian countries, then get told I'm wrong because non-alcoholic prices are cheaper than the UK, when I reiterate that I was only discussing alcohol prices I get accused of being practically an alcoholic!
I have a feeling that when carolt does have a night out on the pop, she fights with the dustbins on the way home
Just to answer the other costs issues carolt has raised. While I didn't go grocery shopping that much in Denmark, Sweden or Finland because I was a tourist, I did when I lived in Norway and if that place is anything to go by, the cost of living was much higher across the board. Houses seemed relatively inexpensive though, compared to the UK and hotels were cheaper than London and about the same as in Manchester (which is closer to the size of Scan. capital cities).Mortgage Free in 3 Years (Apr 2007 / Currently / Δ Difference)

Tee hee. No - I'm not a big drinker, as I said previously. Prefer chocolate by a long chalk.
Dithering Dad, I wasn't suggesting you were an alcoholic, but just that your post seemed peculiarly aggressive for an amiable discussion about relative prices in the UK v Scandinavia. And you seemed to need to relax a little.
Glad you've now relaxed; maybe you just needed a good night's sleep.
Agree with you re Norway; I also found food v expensive. But Denmark - as I said previously - was far cheaper than its Scandinavian neighbours in this respect.0
