Lovely bits of research guys, the companies house web site has been the undoing of many a spammer on these forums
Particularly entertaining that being associated with Edexcel is something to be proud of when I suspect that the opposite is true if their involvement with school exams is anything to go by.0 -
As prev mentioned by others - great research and info. Many thanks for listing names.
It is interesting when reading the Law Society Gazette article quote: " an EPS spokeswoman said that SPS fell foul to a rogue willwriter"
How strange (or not surprisingly) the "will writer" who sold my elderly parents wills with an estate insurance agreement, is still a name as per the list in the above thread. The rogue will writers are still operating and now they like to call themselves directors of this company!
We were fortunate in getting our money back. However it is worrying that the correspondance recieved at the time from the MD of EPS (another name on the list) was "badly written and from someone with a poor grasp of english" quoting my contact at Trading Standards. How do these people get to run a company is beyond me...no wonder they make it up as they go along and then form an association to credit themselves. They have no ethical or integrity standards at all. Are these people so "greed" driven they have lost their moral compass or by being not very well educated they never had one?! The truth will out ....just like MPs expenses!0 -
very interesting reading value seeker about EPS, I have had dealings with the Institute of professional Willwriters and I am just totally confused as all they are is a glorified will writing company saying that they regulate themselves.
If you contact their office and ask them if their exams are nationally accredited they say that they are, if you were to ask by who the just say by themselves.
No wonder the general public get so ripped off by so many rouge willwriters as neither the Institue of Professional Willwriters or the Society of Willwriters really know what to do other than line their own pockets. All they seem to do is !!!!! about each other and not really care about us the consumer.0 -
....Or visit the Institute of Professional Willwriters at to find members in your area that have demonstrated their expertise by passing a compulsory exam in the subject as well as having to complete ongoing training and be fully insured.0
-
and was totally put off by the fact that their so say qualification is not nationally recognised
So are you going to join the fellowship of professional willwriters instead as that does seem to be their unique selling point?:rotfl:
You wouldn't be devilshaircut reinvented by any chance?0 -

Thanks for coming back so quickly, I am certainly not who you sugest I am,I am just very confused as to why these organisations seem to be fighting when surely they should just come together and all talk and agree on one standard in the industry.0

The IPW and the Society seem to have done financially very well for themselves over the years, this new organisation as you say only has national qualifications to really offer who do you actually believe as they all seem to have baggage.0
