Readers Digest, is this a rip off?

hi there

i have had a letter from them this morning, saying a large orange envelope with a green tracking label due to arrive through my front door in the next few days , and when it does i have 72 hrs to reply, and i could win up to £250,000 if my number is picked out.

i take it, this some kind a rip of ?, thanks for any advice

i have never had any dealings with this company before

They are well known as a purveyor of junk mail, once they have you on their mailing list you will never escape. You will get these type of 'wins' and free entry draws several times a month.

It is a shame as Readers Digest were always a wellr espected publishing company of a small 'newsy' type book/magazine, the fact that they bombard you with so much junk means you couldn't subscribe to any of their offers without serious damage toa forest or two. Personally I would write to them and insist they remove you from their mailing list immediately, I did that a few times and finally wrote to the CEO before I could escape.

It's a pity that a company such as them have to resort to tactics like this.
