Going to Seoul

Hi, am going to Seoul next week with work and I am considering 2 ways to get there
1. Direct with korean air - 13 hours in the air (will be economy alas) as a 6 foot 3 man! Anyone done the route know that the planes are like? legroom/food/drinks etc...
2. Via dubai with Emirates. I know and love Emirates and the 3 hours in Dubai airport is a great rest and shopping experience! but its an 18 hour journey both ways!
Both similar prices, my real concern is with korean Air as i've never flown with them!
Also I will have a day free for shopping, I presume electricals are cheap.. any good bargains I should look out for e.g. computer bits and pieces, memory sticks, laptops etc... ipods, watches clothes etc...
any advice welcome.

It'll be a 747-400 with 33 or 34 inch pitch in economy which is better than average (BA = 31 inch). I prefer Emirates with a stopover but some people prefer getting the journey over and done with - your choice. Look here for more info on seating: http://www.seatguru.com/airlines/Korean_Air/Korean_Air_Boeing_747-400.php0
