Okay - so what is this and why will it not open??

Am trying to unistall some programs from my computer, using XP and doing it through the add/remove programs bits.

Hubby had added some trial games and something I added (a anti-spy thing) that I wish ot remove, but when I go to uninstall it, a windows box comes up labelled WISE UNINSTALL and it says Could not open INSTALL.LOG file

Can someone solve this for me??

Is it still running if so have a look by the clock on yer PC (sys tray) and
if a icon is there of the program you wish to uninstall right click and choose
exit or disable, or do Ctrl Alt Del and go to the Processes Tab and end the program
dont end needed ones though just the ones you wanna get shot of.

If no joy re-install what you want to get shot of then try Uninstall again.
  • An Uninstall log is created during setup, and lists each file and entry made on the PC.

Setup is simply looking for that so it only removes the files it puts on there. The Install.log can usually be found in the directory of the application. If it's gone, do as Mr Skint says and reinstall, then uninstall.

If you know it hasn't created any registry entries, and is definately not important, just delete the program folder!
