A Wii question!

Hi all
Feel free to move me if I am asking this in the wrong place but DD2 has asked for a Wii and Wii fit for her birthday. Now I know that the Wii fit is about as rare as a hens tooth but am searching hard (don't want to pay OTT ebay prices).
However I have a quick question about the Wii. My friend's daughter works in Game and can get me 10% off the Wii and has asked if I want an extra controller for £40 and I don't know I have absolutely no idea whether this is a necessity and would be really grateful for any advice.

You will need extra controller if you play with more than one player. Its really fun multi player you can get extra controller with wii play
Mario kart is great on wii, just played it online last night with my daughter and others online.0 -
An extra controller for £40!!! No way! They are only about a tenner...ok maybe not then -> http://www.joolop.com/wiiaccessories/official-nintendo-wii-remote-control-white.html?gclid=CI-smJKEoZQCFQTalAodOitrtw £25
If you are going to get one then you might as well use the 10% discount...wait the wii fit out for a few months and there will be loads more available then. Not great that she has to wait but it's just one of those things.
Hope she has a nice birthday x0 -
Wii play has extra controller and can be had for about £35-£400

You can buy the wii remote for about £30 (or less) in a number of places
and for some games you need the nunchuck as well which is about another £13, so if you can get both for £40 thats not too bad a deal.
You don't need another controller or nunchuck for the Wii fit but they are vital for multi-player games0 -
I second getting wii play for the extra controller - ask her if she can get the 10% off this instead...Keep an eye on the thread about wii fit availability and also do a search on your local argos every morning to see if it's in stock - argos seem to be getting a few in lately (I got one on Monday)0

Game sell their controllers for £32.99.
However if you want to play some of the other gams like mario kart you can play using only the remote but makes it a lot easier with the steering wheel.
The wii fit will come with a board and you'll need to use the remote as well. It is a good laugh and I would recommend it, it's just a matter of finding it! HMV, PLAY, ARGOS don't have one.0 -
So with the actual console do I get one nunchuck and one controller? These game people are really crafty aren't they, keeping the actual price down but then needing 'extras' to actually be able to play it as it is meant to be played  . Will look into Wii play as that sounds like a good option0

Yes you get one controller and one Nunchuck
Some games are meant for up to four players - it all adds up.
We get friends to bring theirs round when they come to play0 -
[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]That is the genius of the Wii - you can never buy enough peripherals!
Wii play itself is no great shakes, I'd just buy another Wii-mote personally.
