You could try the Best Western Hotels £30 a night offer and see if they have any availability for the the night you want-you would need to book 2 nights to get the offer rate, but at £60 will still be cheaper than most other hotels per night. think it finishes the end of this week.

Travelodge now have 2 hotels in the West End of Edinburgh - the Haymarket hotel which is only a short stroll from Haymarket station or the West End hotel which is the old Menzies Belford Hotel close to the Dean Gallery.

Check the Travelodge website for details.

the Ibis has got a great location its £89 on your night

Apex International is £77 on expedia - again great location - dinner at their heights restaurant is great for the view & they often have 2 for 1 deals on their website.

Both of these are modern style hotels, the Ibis is pretty faceless, but the Apex is nice. It depends what you want & what your idea of cheap is.

If your looking for more "tartan & shortbread" style, these arent the hotel for you.
