Alicante car hire advice needed !

Ok, I know this topic has been talked about in the past BUT I'm just wondering how people have been getting on recently with car hires so far this summer in Alicante ?

Heading there at the end of Aug. and haven't booked a car hire company yet for Alicante airport.
I Used to go with Carjet all the time but found their fuel policy a ripoff!!!

Sooooooooo...what company and websites have you been dealing with and what's their fuel policy?

Cheers.

Perhaps do a search and compare the cheapest with carjet including the fuel policies.
Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.

Hi! I've used Victoria Cars at Alicante before and they've always been very good. My sister returns from Alicante today and they've been happy this time too. http://www.victoriacars.com/
This is their funel policy from the website...

    5. Fuel. Fuel is not included in the rental price. The vehicle will be delivered full of fuel which will be paid at the moment of the delivery. In case of rentals for less than 3 days, it is possible to ask for half of the tank. The price of the full tank will vary between 40€ and 96€ depending on the vehicle model rented.
We inform you that Victoria RENT A CAR does not use the fuel for earning money, but because we use the “full-empty” policy in order to offer customers a better service and does not oblige himself/herself to go to the nearest petrol station before delivering the vehicle.
None fuel repayment will be refunded. The vehicle must be returned with as minimum quantity of fuel in the tank as possible.

We booked through Carjet and ended up getting a car through Sol-Mar. Was very impressed with the car provided and was able to choose whether to pay for a full tank of fuel or half a tank. We were only there for 1 week so half a tank was just enough.

Victoria cars were also recommended to us,but autoamigos came out much cheaper at least 150 euro if I remember rightly.

Most Spanish car hire firms use the full-to-empty fuel policy, unless it's a short hire in which case most will do full-to-full (with a deposit taken for the fuel).

I believe that Record (http://www.recordrentacar.com/) does not charge for fuel (you return it with the same amount of fuel as when you collected it).
Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks

And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning

If you've read the other threads on this topic, you will know that Carjet do not provide the cars or set the T&Cs. It is true, though, that most of the hirers they use operate a full-to-empty policy.

Carjet (and Holiday Autos, Argus, Auto Europe, etc.) are the brokers who put your contract with the hirers. The hirers set the T&Cs.

Even DoYouSpain who regularly provide Record cars (on full-to-full) do occasionaly supply from other hirers on f-t-e.

One point about Victoria. They are one of the few hirers at Alicante with an excess on the insurance:

"The price of the rental includes a comprehensive insurance with excess, damages to third parties, limited civil responsibility, driver and occupants insurance, coverage against theft and fire.

The comprehensive insurance's amount varies from the model the rental car is associated with and is as follows:

    Group/Excess: AA200€, A300€, B400€, BB400€, B1/400€, C400€, CC400€, C1/400€, D500€, D1/500€, E500€, F500€, FR500€, H600€, H1/600€, H2/600€, K600€"
