Problem tap

I have a hot water kitchen tap that suddenly can only turn maybe one full turn with much reduced flow of water. Is the washer going?

It sounds like a problem with the head gear, not the washer.
These are normally pretty easy to fix.
Check out the section on tap head gear and how to replace a head gear and then take it from there- Taps0 -
Thanks for that. Replaced the head gear but the tap still only open and closed a small amount. Solved it temporarily by putting the head gear from the cold tap in (and new headgear in cold tap which works fine). Any idea what might be wrong?0

Sorry I don't have a clue. It's really strange that one will not work in the other side of the tap as they are normally universal.0
