Hi
I'm asking on behalf of my daughter so I dont have all the details at my fingertips. Basically .................
Sky broadband went live last week in shared house
Housemate can connect wirelessly
Daughter can connect using ethernet cable but not wirelessly. She can use laptop wirelessly away from home and also connect to internet using mobile phone as modem
She is adamant that she is entering the WPA key correctly and states that sometimes the laptop can see the router but sometimes it cant. She is reasonably familiar with computers and usually can get stuff to work by following the menus and instructions. So is there anything obvious she should be looking for in order to solve this problem.
I cant go round and check anything as she lives miles away
Thanks in advance for any advice

Hi, here are a couple of things your daughter can try

If your daughters laptop cannot always see the router, they entering 192.168.0.1 in the browser to get to the router settings page, username is admin and password is sky. Once in the RSP, try changing the channel your wireless is broadcast on, usually the higher numbers are best such as channel 11.
I know you said your daughter is entering the WPA correctly, but is she definately using capitals? The WPA key is case sensitive.
another thing to try is deleting any saved networks on your computer, if you need help with this, just shout
