help my washing machine is smelling of burning when on

what do i do? it is still running perfectly fine but is letting off a rank burning smell whatever cycle it is on. I had it on a 90 the other day when i first smelt it and put it down to the temp being to high, however its on a quick wash today and still doing it. what shall i do i've never had to deal with anything like this before. it's only a few years old. and is it safe to use?

Could be that water has leaked onto the control circuit board. I would not use it until it has been checked as the circuit board could be smouldering when power is applied.

thanks i have a feeling it is something to do with the temp thermostat as its not contolling it anymore. gets too hot on the lowest of washes seems the only thing that will work without the smell is a cold wash.

Hi, Have it checked out for your safety. If the heater is "on" all the time when doing a hot wash due to a faulty thermostat it might be heating still when on a draining cycle and burn itself, and you out. I think you have identified the thermostat as faulty. Order one from HERE and get someone to fit it for you you did not mention the make so check out the price of a new one first.
