Boiler problems again

A couple of months ago we had a problem with our boiler producing heat but no hot water , got this fixed at a cost of £500.00:eek: however since then we have not used the central heating so I decided to put it on a couple of days ago but its not working (although we do have hot water). Should the engineer, who came to sort the hot water out, have checked that the whole system was working before he left? Can anyone advise what may be wrong and if we can fix it ourselves?

Yes, you should definitely call the engineer back. However, what did he do that cost £500? If hes charging that amount he might be the type to not want to come back.
If my husband had done a job for a customer - even a small £50 one, and there was a problem after he had gone, he would still go back.0
