help needed
i dont know what to do, i am with british gas and paid £50 a month direct debit, yesterday i received a letter saying that my payments were not enough and they now want £190 per month. i telephoned them and got it dropped to £140 per month. to be honest i can not afford this. i dont know what to do

The only options i can see if you have already called them would be to find out if your on there cheapest price plan, this will help to reduce the cost, also is the payment there to clear debt which has built up due to a to low D.D amount being set?0

Have they based this on an accurate reading? If not give them one (there's a freephone number or you can use their website).
You could make extra payments when you can to reduce any outstanding balance then get them to recalculate the monthly amounts.0
