Recently moved into a property and currently the utilties are all with British Gas. I've had problems with British Gas in the past so ideally would like to move suppliers. I'm not sure what my usage or the current costs are going to be as we were in a flat previously that had no central heating and also had prepayment meters. Now in a mid terrace house fully double glazed and lovely central heating,

The 'best company' depends on where you live, how much gas/electricity you use and how you pay. In general, the internet accounts are the cheapest.

Your best bet will be to estimate gas and electricity consumption and enter that data in a comparison network. The average consumption is 20,500kWh for gas and 3,300kWh for electricity.

Also if i was you i would take a serious look at price protection tariffs/capped price tariffs (i know the slight premium put some people off) but it will save you some money in the long run
