Search thread problems

I do a search before posting on the freebies thread, it comes up as nothing, so I post it, only to find that someone thanks me for the post, but it's already been posted...
Any tips would be appreciated as to what I'm doing wrong.
I do always search the correct name of the product.

Thank you Sue for the reply.
I do use lower case in the searches, and it has still happened!................................... MSE MARTIN LEWIS ... :A ... THANK YOU.......................0 -
The search is male so you have to humour it, try related words rather than the product name?
and if its less than three letters use * as a joker.0 -

Hi MD...
The way I search is to copy and paste the url (web address) into the search box [e.g: https://www.xyz.co.uk ... missing out the http bit!]... then make sure the little button is highlighted on the "Forums" bit so you don't end up searching the Main Site...
This seems to work for most stuff that is posted with a web address...

I must bring this up again, as I've been using MCR's tip, and it has worked so far.
Thank you MCR.
Today I did the same thing, and it showed no results for the search, so I started a new thread, only to find that the search was wrong. It had already been posted.
How can we stop this happening please?................................... MSE MARTIN LEWIS ... :A ... THANK YOU.......................0
