  • Looks like a good deal, I love smoothies! :-)
Started paying off debt in Sept 07, inspired by this website :-) Almost 7.7k debt, now 2.9k (end of June 08):T
    Main things we've been doing:
interest free cards, cashback cards, store's one brand groceries, just getting what we need
*can't wait until I'm debtfree! Should be by November!*

Mine was accepted today in Colne ASDA - scanned - and reduced my total bill by £2.49, even though I was only charged £2.48 for the smoothy.

Not quite the 50p profit Tesco shoppers are making, but it was a penny off the rest of my shopping... (Nescafe, Rowntree's Fruit Pastilles, Kit Kat, Buitoni Pasta, Munch Bunch Yoghurts and Purina Cat Food... ...and I don't even own a cat!)

Sorry, people-with-a-cause-they-can't-help-but-inflict-on-others! I just feel sorry for your children... No milky bars? <grin>

Well I'm neither poor or uneducated and you couldn't pay me to breastfeed. It's a personal choice and one that every woman has the right to make - including those in poor countries. There are many reasons why a woman may choose not to breastfeed, for example I know several who have been unable to produce enough milk and have ended up with malnourished babies. I would imagine this problem (amongst others) is equally prevalent in the third world.

Yes you're right that some women (very few) have great difficulty breast feeding, so they may decide to give up on it. Firstly there are many other reasons to boycott Nestle...

Also for anyone out there that buys into the corperate advertising that we need cows milk to survive, it's exactly the opposite!!!

Also check the home page for much more information as to why humans are not meant to drink animal's milk that's obviously meant for their offspring (eg calves).

I used my smoothie coupon in a local Tesco. The self scan till wouldn't accept it. SA first check the coupon and say it's a photocopy, then called his manager. This guy took a long time to check and enter the coupon into to self scan till. At the end deducted 1.99, not the full 2.49.

Fair enough, I am having a nice smoothie right now for breakfast!

Claiming these coupons is a mixed experience.

I used the extra light cheese coupon in a large Sainsbury's till. The SA kept saying it's a photocopy, even touching the print out and said it loud. 'It's a photo copy, look, the paper is so smooth it must be a photocopy' (Have they used a laser printer before?). I was very upset at that time as other shoppers were waiting. Then the manager walked away with the coupon to confirm and it took 5 minutes! At the end they say 'accept it' with a rather unwilling tone.

I claimed the milk coupon in another large Sainsbury's. The SA was unsure so he read it carefully, and called his manager. At first the manger said we don't do internet coupon right away. Then the manger saw the 'Sainsbury's only' condition so he read the whole print out and accepted it. It was a long wait but both staff was very polite. The SA kept saying, 'so the milk is free, this one is free'.

I won't feel too bad if the SA was not happy about scanning the coupon. It's the manufacturer who offered the discount. I printed off legally, I am MSE but no cheater!

However varifying the coupon takes too long. It is only worth doing for free (good) products or big discount on items that I actually buy.

My children are really proud that we boycott nestle as it shows we are concerned about children everywhere, not just them! There's plenty of food choices out there - nobody feels deprived at all...:D
