    Have a look under -

    C:\Documents and Settings\YOURUSERNAME\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles

In there should be the folders for the profiles, and inside them is a bookmarks.html file which can be imported back (or move it to the new profile folder).

You should also be able to move back any extensions also from the 'extensions' folder inside it. :)

that has occasionally happened to me - usually after FF has suffered an unpleasant exit, when i reload it i get the dialogue box you mention. the way i avoid it is to cancel that dialogue and then log off (don't have to restart) and log back on to windows again. that seems to sort it out and it loads properly again.

however, sounds like you have created a new profile - see here: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_Manager for a way of accessing the profile manager for FF and deleting the new profile and switching back to your original one.

    Shut down Firefox completely

In the start menu, select Run.

    paste "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -p into the box

This will give you access to the profile manager. Firefox always opens with the last profile selected in the manager.

For quicker access to the profile manager in the future:

Make a copy of the Firefox bookmark

    rename it 'Profile Manager'

    In it's properties, change "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" to "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -p

From now on, this bookmark will open the Profile Manager (Have to close Firefox fully first)
