Where Can I Buy Yellow Plastic Sheets?

On Saturday, I went to a uniersity open day and got talking to the disability adviser and asked what help I could get as a visually impaired student. I then mentioned something about how it's easier for me to read black text on yellow paper, than it is to read black text on white paper. She said that I could get some yellow plastic sheets (I've seen them before, I think) to put over white paper and do it that way, if there's no way to get yellow paper.
My question is, where can I get something like this from?

Do you mean like plastic see through sleeves in yellow that you can slip documents into to file, keep clean etc?0

No I don't. It's a bit hard to explain, tbh. It's just yellow plastic sheets that I can put over my work.0

I'm sure if you contacted the disability officer she would tell you where you could get them from - even if you haven't actually applied to that university.
OR would RNIB be able to help?Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Im not sure where you can get them from.
Do you have visual stress? I had a test when i was at studying at college and they supplied me with sheets. The colour I read best with is 'rose on rose' Maybe you could ask at the uni if they can provide you with them.0 -
Have you asked at an opticians? There's an optician in our area who tests dyslexics with a range of colours - different colours (and shades of colours) help different people. You can have glasses made up with that colour on the lenses or use the acetate sheet.
Added: if you want to diy, you can buy a yellow sheet here -

I'd recomment getting tested by someone who specialises in this. There's different colours and different shades which could make a difference to you. The problem you may have is Scotopic Sensitivity. I've worked with people who have had this diagnosed and it's made a huge difference to them. I got tested for it myself as part of my training. It also helps as a tutor to know that someone has this problem and sometimes we copy stuff into coloured paper to help them. Here's a link to a web page

I've not asked at the opticians and I'm not due for another eye test until March.
Sue - did look on the RNIB shop, but couldn't find anything. I will talk to them and see what they say.0
