Cheapest washing machine

Does anyone know where I can buy a cheap washing machine.
It is for a rented property, so the cheapest will do.
I would also consider a second hand one, if anyone knows any decent second hand shops.
I am in Newcastle.
Thanks

  • Hi,
    Please try https://www.onelectricals.com
Just to be transparent about this I came across your message researching this site and I do work for the company behind the website. We sell end of line, ex-display and cosmetically damaged goods that are all unused.
    Best of luck!
    Regards,
    Jim.
  • A lot of rented properties have Indesit washing machines in them because they are cheap. We have one in ours and so does a friend. However - and I have been told this by the engineer - they are very unreliable and the pump often breaks. We had 3 years out of ours befrore it packed in and we were told we were lucky it lasted that long.

Hi June, have a look on eBay to see if there are any second hand machines local to you. That will probably be your cheapest bet :)

Be careful , cheap may well end up costing you more when your tenants are constantly calling you asking for a repair. I'd be tempted to go for a better brand like Bosch/Siemens, a more reliable machine would be more cost effective long term.

we have an Indesit at work and tbh it's not very good at all.(being polite!!)

Renew North East http://www.renewnortheast.co.uk/ are based in Felling, Gateshead, and they sell refurbished washing machines with a 6 month guarantee. They also deliver for free within a certain area.

I've always been happy with them.

Just monitored three where the bidding closed this afternon:

HAIER HW-C1460TVEME-U 1400 SPIN WASHING MACHINE £160 (retail price 200)
    HAIER HW-C1460TVE-U 1400 SPIN WASHING MACHINE £145 (retail 190)
BEKO WMA642W 1400 SPIN SPEED WASHING MACHINE £170 (retail 250)

I must admit that's not as good as I'd hoped for.
  • don't buy the haiers, they are nothing but trouble!!!!

I had mine delivered on 1st june and I've already had an engineer out. Beko's are supposed to be ok

My experience of Hotpoint, Creda and Indesit (washer, oven, fridgefreezer) is that they will all break down in less than 2 years.
Getting a service these days from the manufacturer costs £99 and includes parts and labour. This can amount to half the price of the product.
All these products are made by the same company as are Ariston and Merloni.
The business model seems to be sell cheap and make £££ from the service.
Do not think a hotpoint is different from a creda or a indesit. They are the same and ONLY have a different badge on.

I have posted a video on youtube about my fridge freezer. It can be found by searching for Indesit and Fridge

    Good luck

I've just bought a Beko from the CoOp. It cost £189 and is doing a fantastic job! I've heard good things about Beko, so hope this helps.

I could have got another £10 off if I'd driven 17 miles to the nearest Comet, but decided it'd be cheaper to get it locally.
If you see me on here - shout at me to get off and go and get something useful done!! :D
