Um just a quick one is £30,000 mortgage correct? just seems very strange unless your debts where over £170,000 that you went bankrupt as you were not insolvent

Well, if you are bankrupt then you can do nothing about the house as its currently "not yours" technically. Your Official Reciever will be doing everything that has anything to do with your property.

You need to discuss matters with your OR as soon as possible. As really a bankruptcy order should not have been issued if you have £170k equity (that is unless your debts are over £85k as half of the equity is yours and half your husbands if you are joint mortgagees/deed holders etc) as you are not insolvent. But I suppose if you ignored everything then it could have happened as they would never have known.

You have definately been declared bankrupt? You have a court order sent from the courts with an official stamp and your official recievers details on the bottom? Just odd, thats all.

It does sound very, very odd indeed. Is your council tax the ONLY debt you have?

Hold up - are you based in Scotland????? We are talking English law and the Scottish one is somewhat different.

    Hi Getting better,

Was this the only debt you had, to get the BR annulled, (I presume that's what you want to remortgage for) you'll have to raise enough to clear all your outstanding credit cards, store cards, loans etc., and OR fees.

If it is the only £1500 could your OH raise the funds? (assuming he's not BR)
