nice B & B in Royal Tunbrodge Wells please

Err, sorry, just seen the typo but can't edit the title!!

Hi all,

We're down for a wedding in August and I need to find a nice B & B very close to High Rocks for a couple of nights (maybe more). It must have a family room that sleeps four (not 3 and a cheap mattress chucked on the floor, which is what Travelodge give us).

When they sent the invite, they also gave us the name of a hotel, but it's turned into a Travelodge now and I'm not happy staying there (my kids are 12 and 13 and they NEED good beds, we will have driven 620 miles to get there!).

Any advice from you guys in "the know" would be most appreciated.

Thank you, from someone at the other end of the country!
 Call of Duty widow

If the wedding is earlier in August (one of the first two weekends), Best Western have a special 30th birthday deal which has vacancies for £30 per room per night at a hotel near Tunbridge. Two rooms £60, two nights £120 total.

thanks kp, but just looked up the web site and the nearest is in Tonbridge not Royal Tunbridge Wells.

anyone else, any ideas? I've looked at several hotels, but none have a family room with capacity of 4. I'm not happy having two rooms in a big hotel, but would be ok in a small b & b

Tonbridge Best Western Rose and Crown is only about 5 miles from Tunbridge Wells and although not too familar with area itself, that hotel sounds lovely as it is an old tudor coaching inn. They have £30 rooms availble currently for most August weekends. Click on link supplied by kpdorset and put in Tunbridge wells, chooose 2 night stay dates and 30bda as promotion code. It would probably be only a 10 minute cab journey away (you could even check rates and book in advance with a local cab firm). Think this offer is finishing soon, so you may need to book very soon. On thinking I would ring the hotel and check if they have any rooms with connecting doors and ensure that rooms are beside each other and book quoting the 30bda promotion code.

Have you tried the following websites for B&Bs?

    www.bedandbreakfast-directory.c.uk
    www.bnb-directory.com
    www.bedandbreakfast-uk.co.uk
Anything that looks likely can always be 'sussed out' at either:
    Trip Advisor
    The Real Visitors Book
    Holiday Watchdog
to see if they are any good.

  • you could try The Beacon - they've recently (ish) started doing B&B and only have three rooms. The pub/restaurant is very nice although being a resident in TW, I've never had to stay there, so not sure if they have rooms in the configuration you would require.

There's also The Brick House, 21 Mount Ephraim Rd, Tunbridge Wells, TN1 1EN Tel: 01892 516517 which advertises as having a 4 star quality award which might be worth trying?

The Travelodge you mention has only been open for a month or so, it might be worth just telephoning them to see if they do 4 proper beds?

    Hope you find something.
