Electricity bill - what does this mean?

Hello all,
I am feeling a bit thick as I can't quite get my head around my electricity account so am hoping someone can help, please.
The account reads (online)
Credit Balance: - £ 73.16
Am I in credit or do I owe them? What is confusing me is the minus sign
Thanks

I believe you are in credit - yes the minus sign is confusing but don't worry about it.0

Yes you are in credit.
However bear in mind that most on-line accounts(all?) show the monthly payments as a credit as soon as they are paid in, but only debit quarterly.
For example you are currently £73.16 in credit today, but tomorrow your quarterly bill of, say, £150 might be due and you will then be £76.84p in debit(if my arithmetic is correct!!)0 -
Thanks guys - I hadn't quite looked at it that way with the DD, and the bill is due in July. I'll go and find out what the last quarterly bill was like.
