I am existing BG customer, I rang them and quoted discount asked them if they would knock off the 15% for me. This was no problem although I think they changed me over to a new contract for my homecare and I have received the confirmation this morning with a £5 pm reduction - the policy is still the same. Unless Im mistaken I cant see any disadvantage in doing this???

Thanks for reporting this. I'll phone them up on Monday and see if we can also get the reduction. Worth a try.

Tried to do it for my parents also but theirs is a bit complicated as theyve had new central heating system installed a year ago and had their first years homecare free. They have only just restarted their homecare contract and already have some sort of discount applied and also their contract only runs till Feb so was unable to have Classic FM discount applied.(Sorry im rambling!) Its still worth a phone call though they can only say no, but I warn you most of the advisers seem completely in the dark about the promotion and keep saying its only for new customers so you probably have to be prepared to start new contract. They were open this morning though.
