Internet Speed dropped

My internet connection speed has dropped over the last 10 days or so. It always used to be around 5.6mbps but it's now dropped to 3.8mbps. I'm on Orange broadband which allows upto 7mbps. Any ideas for a fix or is it more likely a hardware fault?

    Hi,

It might be a contention issue. If more people have joined orange in your area then your speed will drop. On your contract with orange it should state you contention ratio ie 20:! 40:1 or 50:1 the lower the number the higher the bandwidth.
