what age can you start introdcing fruit/veg etc to a puppy. What do you cook and what can they have raw? What other treats apart from cheese and shop bougt ones would be good for training. Is on Burns mini bites at moment but sure in a few weeks may like a little variation sometimes.

A lot of people use little bits of carrot for training. Cheap, non-fattening, and most dogs like it. Not too big or it can be a choking hazard. Raw is fine. Offer it to the puppy and see what happens. It might just spit it out.
A little bit of apple would also be great - though more expensive than carrot, but never give dogs grapes as they can be poisonous. Crunchy foods are good. My dogs like raw broccoli and frozen peas. They don't like lettuce!
Never give dogs chocolate - it can kill. And cheese could cause an upset stomach (most adult animals are lactose intolerant).0 -
I would add of course that the best "treat" you can give your dog during training is praise. And that is free of charge....0
