Hi, I currently have a Beneficial credit card that was the charity one for the RSPCA. I clear the balance off monthly and mainly use it to shop safe online. Have had it for a numbr of years and never had any problems.
Yesterday I got a letter saying the card was being transferred to MBNA. From what i've read on these boards I have a feeling its not the best card company and am wondering if I should cancel the card before the new changes come in. I do have the option of simply being a second card holder on hubbies card so can go down that route if need be.
Just looking for peoples opinions on MBNA so I can make the best decision.

You have to remember some of the posters have an axe to grind with MBNA. They have normally gone over their credit limit or missed payments and blame the credit card company for their stupidity. Myself I am very happy with MBNA. They are always offering me good promotional rates and they allow you to transfer balances to your bank account. Also my APR is 14%.
However I mainly keep the card for the promotional rates.0 -
I never had any problems with MBNA (they never had any problems with me).
If you clear the balance, you can cancel the card any time (unlike people who are trapped with a certain provider due to debt).
Just see how it goes.0 -
I cannot wait to read other peoples opinion about mbna, mines this........
move sarpish - don't look back and dump mbna. There are other more stable
cards out there, mbna are not the only company thats bad there are more so
pick wisely - do some research.0
