National Tyres-wrong tyres on!

Two months ago my wife visited National Tyres to have 2 new tyres put on our Ford Galaxy, however we recently visited the Ford garage and they inform us that they have put the wrong ones on. We have the receipt with the details of both the tyres AND the car that they were put on, yet although they admit that the tyres maybe wrong, they do not admit any liability claiming that they just replaced the old ones like for like- so watch out - tyre fitters don't necessarily have to know what they are doing at National Tyres

why are they the wrong tyres? this could be as much as the dealer wanting to sell you two new tyres?Remember the time he ate my goldfish? And you lied and said I never had goldfish. Then why did I have the bowl Bart? Why did I have the bowl?0

interesting point this, as everytime I've had new tyres the shop just replace with the same size as the old ones. so if the tyres were wrong to start with...
and I'm sure this applies to all tyre places.0 -

Because of the weight of a galaxy/alhambra/sharan & probably a lot of similar people carriers they should be running on van tyres which have a 6 ply sidewall. If you check the tyre pressure sticker on the door frame it recommends about 46psi (off the top of my head) which, i think, on a normal car tyre would be a fairly dangerous pressure to try an inflate them to.0 -
What are the size of the tyres fitted now and what should they be.And what year is the Galaxy.0

The rim size and tread depth?
This is an important piece of information, without it your post seems like a childs tantrum. Please explain the tyre measurements from the dealer and the tyre company.
You need to tell the full picture. Also, WHY did you have incorrect tyres on in the first place? It is dangerous to be on the road like that, if you dont care for yourself then care for other drivers please.
The first part of your post is nonsense, why on earth would you need to know those details???
As for "Also, WHY did you have incorrect tyres on in the first place? It is dangerous to be on the road like that, if you dont care for yourself then care for other drivers please" The OP never said they did have incorrect tyres on, they said they were told the new ones were incorrect and the Tyre Fitters said they "replaced like for like". Try to keep up if you are going to ridicule people, otherwise you just make yourself look even more silly then you already do!!!
I have known tyre fitting places to fit the wrong tyres on cars and also on commercial vehicles before, I have also known them to fit incorrect batteries before as well.
Check the tyres that were not replaced, are they the correct type? Are they the original tyres from new (when the car was new that is), were the tyres that were wrongly replaced originally fitted at the same time as the other pair - basically can you show enough evidence to put their story in doubt, if so make them change them to the correct ones.0 -

If it's like my Galaxy, then it's possible the rear tyres are different from the front ones.
Mine only had reinforced tyres on the back, as I recall.
(I could be talking rubbish, of course - I'm not a big fan of cars).0 -
They cannot escape liability by putting on the wrong tyres because the old ones were wrong!!! They should have informed you. You paid for a service (professional fitting) as well as the goods (the tyres).0
