Train Fair Saving!?!

Just a train travel tip that may help you to save a couple of quid!

Right, I went on megatrain.com searched a train journey and then it gave me these results.

Outbound;
06:32 Depart Leicester
Arrive London St Pancras 08:05 3 seats = £27.00

Return;
15:55 Depart London St Pancras
Arrive Leicester 17:10 3 seats = £23.00

Then inc the 50p booking fee it's a total of £50.50 for 3 people.

I then went and put these times into the east midlands train website, I got the same travel also the same price for give or take a hour for: £48.00 and no booking fee.

Just shows that if you browse around you can save £2.50 :) Better than a kick up the backside.

:T

You see posters for 'Return to London for £7'! Yeah like. If you can travel on that one day out of the 365! (366 this year)

Thanks

Chris :)

    Oh come off it - don't spoil a good post with a cheap unwarranted jibe.

    Those cheap fares are easy enough to get. I've just put in a random date towards the end of the megatrain booking window and come up with £1 each way fares between Leicester and London. I doubt if I've magically hit on 'that one day'.

    I use Megatrain several times a year to reach family in Dorset. I frequently manage to get the £1 fares, sometimes both ways.
