Good evening frunchkins:D
Lots of posts to read tonight
Nyk you will be pleased to know that my oldies have had their 5 today, strawberries and cream this morning at coffee morning, then tonight they have had HM steak/potato pie with green beans, carrot and swede, garden peas and cabbage, followed by baked peaches with almond sponge topping and ice cream. approx 6 F&V portions each not including whatever they had for breakfst/lunch at home. Anyone who doesn't think little old ladies have a good appetite hasn't seen my lot eat:rolleyes: I like to get some good HM and healthy food into them on Friday and Sunday as lots of them live on sandwiches and ready meals the rest of the time:sad:
Merringue nests are on offer in Asda this week two boxes for £1 so think Sunday they can have mini pavlovas stuffed with mixed berries for their dessert and make a berry sauce to go with it.
I may finally be getting a quiet night to myself tonight, OH has gone to work for the night and DD has gone to watch her latest boyfriend's group playing a gig:rolleyes: Think this one may last a little while as he has been introduced to the ponies:rotfl:. and apparently is still suitable:rolleyes: .
I have managed five no spend days this week but tomorrow I am planning on going to town, I need some trousers for work and want a couple of new tops but I have £140 worth of vouchers for different places which were from my birthday so I will be trying to spend those first. I will have to spend on the car park though:mad: and may have a peek in the pound shops to see if there are any good bargains. Will need to empty the boot of my car first as there are still a dozen or so tins of peaches in there plus other stuff which hasn't made its way into the house yet:rolleyes:.
Enjoy the rest of your evening everyone.0 -
We've just been to see Wall.e at the cinema, which was very good. There's a thread about it somewhere.
Took in our own sweeties which saved a lot of money.
Got an early wedding present from a friend who's off on hols - 2 gorgeous shrubs. Such a lovely surprise.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -

:rotfl: perhaps thats why HS suddenly became OH!!!
:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: No way! I am sure I'd have spotted that problem had it occured... do NOT put ideas into my head, please, or poor OH2B may end up eating salad all summer just to see what happens! :rotfl: I'd forgotten about that particular episode with AM / Mr Weezl. I was too busy thinking of his reaction to eating brains - That's the reaction I'd get if I served up a slice of melon or a tuna sandwich! :rotfl:
Sophiesmum - What's the minimum age to become one of your oldies?I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

Morning frunchkins:D
I was willing the sun to shine today but it is still grey and miserable here so no such luck. Off to town early to beat the crowds, have just been to asda for some of the 50p kiwis, butters and mushrooms and a box of £1 sugar puffs for DD spent £3 from contingency fund.
I have also added another £50 to my sealed pot in lieu of electricity payments so will update sig in a minute to show that.
Plans for today;- Go to town and spend vouchers
- Pick up some anti perspirants from boots and use points, need enough to last rest of year approx 10 at 2 per month. Stocked up with toiletries at start of year but underestimated these and running low:rolleyes: Luckily I have £23 in points so no problem.
- Pick up some goodies to take to cinema tonight from cheap shop - going to see mama mia with some friends - not paying cinema prices:eek:
- Clean house through with stardrops and microfibre cloths.
- Do an inventory of my storecupboard, don't seem to be using much stuff at all.
- Visit my parents and spend some time with dad who is very poorly. Will probably return laden with stuff from mums garden again.
- Make an effort to contact one of my oldest friends who I haven't seen for a while, don't want to lose touch

Brilliant Whitewing, I wish I had thought of that. :rotfl:But I have a PAT dog (not official) could we come and visit and then stay for lunch? Pretty please?
We got up lateish, have had our breakfast and now need to go and get The Dog for a walk and then go and buy new shoes for DD. Also some top up shopping is needed. I am not allowed to run out of mandarines (or what ever similar is available) as that is DD's main pudding morning, noon, night. (She has just fed last bit of her breakfast toast to the rats while I am typing this.)
How many portions is one banana? If I can count it as two I just made my five yesterday with one glass of orange juice, some frozen peas, baked beans and that one banana. Umm - not very nutricious as a whole, I know.
DD said to me last night that she wanted: "potatoes, fish, mushrooms and beans". So I have taken some fish out of the freezer and will serve it with some potatoes and some more frozen peas and carrots for lunch. I hope she doesn't realise that the beans have turned into peas and mushrooms into carrots.
Now I lost the view of the screen so better stop.
Have a great day everyone - sunny here so far.

I got given a free cabbage by my grocer yesterday (+15 free satsumas:j ) Any suggestions as to what I could do with the cabbage - not something I usually buy (bad childhood memories:eek: ) I also have a tub of quark to use up - any suggestions for that too?
Oh, an finally, where can I buy star drops?I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
Hi BB,
Cabbage - peel off leaves, cook for very short time in boiling water, fill each leaf with cooked mince mixture and roll up like a wrap.
or
use layers of cooked cabbage leaves instead of lasagne sheets to make a lower calorie lasagne.
or
use in vegetable soup
or
cook and make colcannon
or
make some HM coleslaw
or
just have as a veg.
Quark - make a cheesecake, biscuit base, quark, add fruit to top
Stardrops - asda and tesco do stardrops also most Home bargains, quality save stores:D0
