What next?
Last night DD dragged her duvet and pillow downstairs and settled to sleep on the sofa. I didn't have the energy to argue about it so I let her get on with it. Now tonight she refused food (unheard of) said she was poorly (I thought she was imitating me or the guinea pig), said she was tired (as early as 7 pm, never happened before), took her duvet and fell asleep on the sofa again.
During Newsnight I decided to move her to her own bed as it looked like she could fall off from the sofa anytime. She was red hot. And I mean red. Her skin colour is light brown and she was red. And when I was putting her to bed she wanted to go to the toilet and she had bad tummy. I managed to force down some children's nurofren (guinea pig is soo much easier to medicate) and she is now sleeping. I promised her to take her to see the doctor if she is not better in the morning.
She was pointing her chest that the pain was there and got me really worried. Despite numerous colds I haven't seen her like this since her babyhood.
I have to go to bed myself. I hope DD won't come and sleep with me like last 3 nights as then I can't sleep properly. On the other hand I would love to hear this perky voice calling me in the morning asking "Is it time to get up?".
Night night,

Marru, I hope you and DD are both feeling better today, it's no fun when children get feverish. Thankfully, we aren't getting the type of weather that makes it impossible to help keep cool! Maybe you could make DD a paper fan and show her how to cool her face so that it takes her mind off her upset tum?
Ddraig, I have been thinking about Chrissie shopping since January and have been slowly stashing away odds and ends as they appeared in the clearance sales :rotfl: I'm also saving any vouchers I receive and plan on making a few things as well. I already have the cheap bubblebath in and added rosemary or lavender so it infuses in plenty of time. I did a present inventory a few weeks ago and was surprised by how much I already have. It'll be a really frugal Christmas this year, especially if we get the property we are looking at - please, please, please... I REALLY want this one! But don't want to sound too desperate and will try my best not to be [STRIKE]utterly devastated[/STRIKE] upset if it all falls through.I'll need to go and check out some of the Christmas threads now you've mentioned them! every little helps, as they say.
Taka, our LL brought in caustic soda when we had trouble with the drains and I think it may have been from Focus or B&Q or somewhere like that. Then again, it may have been Home Hardware, sorry, I can't remember now, but I do remember it cost £1.99 :rotfl:
Bails, did you solve the mystery of the flowers? Was it OH?
Must get on with some work and get to postie before 12. I can't decide if I should risk hanging out the washing... think I will! It's just a bit grey and the rain we had earlier has stopped now... maybe... umm... more indecisions!I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

It's still grimly raining, drizzling, threatening, pouring, stair rodding, cats & dogs, spitting, mizzling etc etc etc in mid Wales. Ho hum.
I've got my spreadsheet done for Christmas, v easy one and I've done OH's :money:- now I have to stop buying him things!!An awful lot of "stuff" for £25. Some of it from the famous recycling site - hoping he doesn't read this, here goes: a beautiful Chocolate Jug [hates sweets and puddings, loves hot chocolate
, go figure!], a really sturdy, "manly" set of stoneware green glazed casserole and skillet and a basket to present them in, plus [reduced, of course] assorted hot chocolate mixes, books and a couple of [sale] bargains. Think that's ok? He loves the idea of cooking more than the reality, but then most Christmas gifts aren't too practical are they?
:rolleyes::D
If anyone wants a spreadsheet, just pm me - I use Excel 2002 - and I'll send you a blank one to fill in, if, of course, I can work out how to do this! It helps me a huge amount, having the amount allocated, what I've bought for whom already and how much is left for each person, plus, I suppose, I could put "where it's stored" in there too....
Hope that helps

I LOVE SPREADSHEETS! I'm in my glory when tinkering around with figures and even have one all prepared for when we get around to buying and building / converting / renovating the longterm frugal home. Admittedly, the most recent plot spotted has thrown up a few extra rows that I'd never have previously thought about (civil engineering & bridge work, for example) but it's such a relief being able to adjust all the figures automatically and see how every penny affects the overall budget. Sadly, I've fallen behind with my 4k challenge spreadsheet after starting to use the spendingdiary.com alternative, but I'll get around to bringing that up to date soon.
The sun has come out here, so I'm glad I risked hanging out the bed linen; it's almost dry already. :j
I caved in and spent some money this morning! £5.99 on a talking baby doll to go with the Disney pram for DGD's birthday next week. It was reduced in a sale and I'll now need to plead temporary insanity at the sight of 'sale' and 'reduced' signs. Still, I did get the pram in the January sales and I haven't spent any of my Woolies vouchers yet.:rotfl:I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

Hello all,
Thank you all, DD was absolutely fine this morning. She is not eating much so I think she still has upset tummy but the temperature is now gone. Bails came here to cheer us up.
Need to go, back later.

OooOOh spendingdiary.com, will have to take a peek as I am a spreadsheetaholic too!
No spend today so as all joint bills are now paid for the month, I expect the only other cost to be the food shopping. With so many weekends this month it will be a close call on my Grocery Challenge as well...
Hope DD is ok Marru - I bet some ice cream would cheer her up ;o)MFW #185

] So, out with the sewing machine and the good old scrap bag again. What's everyone going to do for a Frugal Christmas this year? I'm thinking of making up a "hamper" in a handmade - sounds so much better than home made, doncha know? - shopping bag, and then onto the [bulky!] fleece presents. Anyone with me?

Went 'non-see through' spice jar hunting today. Found some lovely ceramic ones in habitat but as they were £4 each  they stayed there. Eventually found 5 mini terracotta ones in a charity shop and paid £4 for them:j . It's amazing how simple little finds like this make me so happpy and feel all's right with the world:o .I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0
