Hi

Sorry to be thick but what does 1-click mean when ordering on the M & S web site??

If you have ordered from their site previous, you card details are held - pick the item you want, click the 'one click' button and your item is taken automatically to the checkout so that you don't have to mess about putting your card details in etc. I think that it recognises your e-mail address i.e. if you first ordered from your home e-mail, it doesn't recognise you in the 'one click' mode from your work's email.

Hope my roundabout way explanation helps - I have only used it once but it is a very quick way of ordering.

If you have signed up with an email address the system will recognise that email address.

Remember: 1-Click Orders are not processed into the inventory update until 90 minutes after the first 1-click.

This means that during the Sale, 1-Click is not the best way as many hundreds or even thousands of other orders can be taken before yours is processed - so a few days after, they can 'discover' that they are out of stock and send you a nice email cancelling yuour order.

The absolute best solution is to make your order just after midnight on the day it opens, but be aware that some prices may not have been updated until several hours into the sale (normally the system updates your order total, but who knows with the archaic M & S system).

It starts when the store opens so 9am for most stores - not heard that there is an earlier opening time.

you can ask in your local store what time they open...
