6 nights in the longstay - @8 Euro a night/day0

Last time I did this it took the bus almost an hour to get from the airport to the parking lot (longstay car park) which was a real pain in the a** cos we'd been awake 20hours as it was at that point. It might be worth one person staying with luggage etc whilst the other goes off and gets the car....0

DAA raising charges for airport parking
Friday, 23 November 2007 09:47
Increases in parking charges at Dublin Airport are being introduced from today.
A spokesperson for Dublin Airport Authority confirmed that charges in the short-term car park will increase by 50% - bringing the hourly rate to €4.50.
For long-term parking, the cost of the day rate has been increased by €1 to €9.50.Dave0 -
I stayed in the quickpark last year at 5 euros a day. Having looked at there website I see the price has increased to 7.50 Euros a day. Id say its still much cheaper than the main or long stay car parks.

stayed at quick park last week for 8 days, was dismayed to see the price upped to €7.50/day but felt we had no option but to drive as getting the aircoach would have meant getting up at an obscenely early hour and finding somewhere safe and cheap in belfast centre to park the car for the week (we're 40 miles north of belfast) [edit: too broke for an overnighter at the hotel and using the hotel parking deals... i went down the tesco clubcard deals route but unfortunately dublin airport hotels were not included]
with the exchange rate being so poor, the advantage of filling up at dundalk was barely there and what has bugged me most was that when we got back to the car yesterday it was caked in cement/construction dust which had been rained on and "set". i could barely see out the windows and it took about half my wiper fluid to get the front and rear screens to an acceptable level of visibility but i had no cloth and the side windows and wing mirrors were still caked. only after a good shower of rain with the wipers constantly on round dundalk was the screen finally cleared.
when i got in last night i tried to clean the side windows and wing mirrors up for my commute to work this morning, even scrubbing with a microfibre cloth and some detergent i haven't managed to get it all off and i'm not sure whether a trip to the car wash will make much of a difference to the body work... i'll have to spend hours at the weekend cleaning it off. not happy.
not sure a strongly-worded email to quickpark will help, sure what could they have done, it's bound to be blown in from the terminal 2 construction... highly unlikely they'll give me the money for a valet... but i have to try!
2nd edit... wish i'd seen the bewleys hotel thing posted above0 -

Please dont make the same mistake that a friend did recently!
They parked in the short term car park, ( stupidly, I believe) and paid all of Euro 225 for 5 days.
Serves them right?...... possibly, but in the spirit of MSE, lets hope that they use the Bewleys option next time!
It would have been much, much cheaper to stay over night and pay the €7 per day, so sometimes you can spend money and yet save some too!
It is also worth noting that you dont even have to stay overnight and yet still benefit from the €7 per day rate.
happy travels.!:beer:0 -
HI all
I'm lucky enough to be getting a wee break later this year but I am flying through Dublin. Any suggestions as to where i could park?
Or is there a cheaper way - flights are late at night and early morning.
Thanks in advance for all your lep.0 -
