I am flying out of Dublin Airport for a weeks duration this weekend, and want to leave the car at/or near the airport. The bus is not an option (I know it has been discussed here before), so I am looking for suggestions on the following:
- how much a weeks parking at Dublin Airport is?
- websites which offer pre-booking discounts for the official airport carparks
- hotels/guest houses which allow you to leave the car for a week. An overnight stay on the Fri is a probability as we have an early flight on the Sat
- anything similar to the guy at Belfast Int'l who ferries you to and from the airport, and leaves the car at his house
All help much appreciated

How far or how much will a taxi cost from airport to hotel if you know of the hotel,Or what is the bus system like to use,Best places to visit while there for us,Cheapest places to eat with quality foods?
Really hope you can help me as i want to make it a memorable stay for us,We do not know a soul there.

https://www.quickpark.ie can be booked and paid online, after that you get a number texted to your mobile to gain access and get out again. €5 a day with full regular bus service. 5 mins from airport0

https://www.holidayextras.co.uk have hotels that offer parking with a shuttle bus to the airport.
The only one in Dublin seems to be the holiday inn (The Holiday Inn Dublin is a stylish and pleasant hotel located just 5 minutes away from the Airport) and it's about £120 per night including up to 15 nights parking so prob not very money saving unless you were planning a night in Dublin anyway.0 -

a taxi from the airport should cost about 20 euro .I think that is cheap .Ask before you get into the taxi .The airport bus depart every 15 minutes and cost 7 euro per adult. aircoach@iol.ie http://www.aircoach.ie .The airport bus WILL leave you 1 minutes walk from your hotel . That is a lot closer than I thought . For places to visit look at dublin tourism website .
Your hotel is in Dublin 2 South city centre .This would be more expensive to eat and shop in . Dublin 1 north city centre would be cheaper to eat and shop .If you eat anywhere outside city centre it should be cheaper. Example Dublin 2 M&S and Habitat, Dublin 1 Penneys /Primark & Tesco.
Load of places to eat around Temple Barr area .But this has become a tourist area so expect to pay a bit more .
have a great time and let us know how you got on .0 -
thanks for all the info - does anyone know off hand how much it costs to park at Dublin airport's official carpark, as it is difficult to compare other deals without that info?
Anyone been recently?0 -

Ginger has already answered a lot of your questions, but i will give you some my limited knowledge.
Firstly it is euros you need. My advice would be to take one of the open top bus tours soon after you get there. You can pick them up around Trinity College, and they will point out all the big tourist attractions, including Guiness storehouse (tour of the brewery, but it can be very busy so expect to queue), Statue of Molly Malone, Phoenix Park (where the Irish President lives), Trinity College, Christ Church Cathedral, Jameson Distillery & Kilmainham jail. These are just some I can remember, but the Temple Bar is worth a wander through in the evenings, and the St Stephens Green (public park - free admission) is lovely for a walk during the day (assuming the weather is good, that is!). Grafton St tends to be the hive of shopping activity, and you get plenty of street entertainers etc in this area.
I am afraid that on the food front I cant be of much assistance, as I have a head like a sieve when it comes to remembering restauants.
Try this link for te sightseeing tour

Was in Poland last weekend.... 4 days in airport carpark €40, but only through necessity. The quickpark mentioned earlier is just as close, fully manned for security and same bus service, but half the cost0

I travel quite a lot out of Dublin airport and the cheapest is https://www.quickpark.ie, if you check Dublin airports web site you will be able to find their car park rates, are more expensive than quickpark. quickpark offers an excellent service and would recommend using to anyone. Hope this helps some of you depart Dublin airport0

Suggest you pre-book online, as this carpark was full the last few times I tried unbooked.
The Aer Rianta car park is on the same road slightly closer to airport, but costs €8 a day.
Excellent bus service either to airport.0 -

The Holiday Inn has been bought over and is now a Clarion. A new Crowne Plaza (same group as hi) has opened up a bit further out from the airport. The stay and park deal was never consistent and neither hotel was offering it as per last weekend.0
