Telly just gone on the blink...guess when warrenty ran out!!!

I've just left the room to pop the kettle on and my telly's gone on the blink!!! it was working before i left the room, the girls were in the bath so no one else was aorund to interfer, i came back in the room and the stand by light is just flashing on and off red, no picture...nothing. But when i turn the power button off the light remains flashing for a further few seconds

To top it all off the warrenty ended TODAY!!!!

anyone any idea's what it could be, its not a new telly, its a re-con Thomson 21 inch

    If the warranty's only just run out, it might be worth contacting the seller and asking if they can do anything.

    yeah its a local shop and they shut about 10 mins after it happened, i'll ring them in the morning

    Push come to shove, if it's only a year old then you could argue that it's not "of satisfactory quality" as the Sale of Goods Act states, more here

    thanks for that, would it have still been covered under that even though it was a recondishioned one and only given a 3 month warrenty.....


    just like to add that i mended it...not sure how but its workin!!!

    Push come to shove, if it's only a year old then you could argue that it's not "of satisfactory quality" as the Sale of Goods Act states .....
    With a TV, I think you would only have a few weeks from date of purchase to claim that it wasn't "of satisfactory quality".

    Your local Trading Standards office will give you good advice over the phone.

    Claiming for inherent faults can be up to six years under the Sale of Goods Act. I think you're confusing the normal time allowance of "accepting the goods". Not the same as the fault free quality.
