HI
New to this board, so don't know if it is the right place to post.
Just about to move into a new house which has a Sky dish on roof.
Having never used sky, don't know much about it.
Is is possible, if I am given a sky box by a friend, that the two will work together and I can see normal non subscription based channels (BBC 1, 2, ITV, Channel 4 etc).
Trying to avoid paying a subscription fee to Sky but use the equip to watch terrestial channels. I'm told the analogue signal is pretty poor on its own.
Anyone know about this kind of stuff?
Thanks

Without a viewing card you will be able to watch all the BBC TV channels.
Good way to check your system then.........
To view all the Free channels you will need a viewing card which you can buy for a one off fee of £20 from Sky.
What you will then get can be found here:

Great advice. Will it just be BBC, not ITV and Channel 4?0 -

Without the £20 viewing card you'll get around 200 channels, these include BBC, ITV, Film4, True Movies and many more. You can manually add Ch4 via the add channels - but won't be shown on the EPG.
With the £20 viewing card from FreeSatFromSky you'll get Ch4, Five, Five US, Fiver, Sky Three and the +1 channels that may go with these.
You could buy the BBC/ITV Freesat box, this will give around 80 channels - though a software update on the Alba make boxes (Bush, Goodmans & Grundig) will soon allow you to add the other free channels. The Humax HD box already allows you to add all the free channels. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0
